An early love of music and singing created a child performer and led to study in New York City at The American Music & Dramatic Academy and San Francisco at The American Conservatory Theatre. I toured with the National Company of the Broadway show THEY’RE PLAYING OUR SONG and was in the Los Angeles production of RAP MASTER RONNIE.
On my first film in Los Angeles, the cult hit EARTH GIRLS ARE EASY I was the set costumer. I worked as a costumer on numerous film and television projects, wardrobe supervised, learned to age & distress clothing and eventually co-designed the original ABC TV series ELVIS. I have designed series TV and am best known for THE WALKING DEAD, but most recently season 2 of the adult comedy BROCKMIRE. Two of my film designs were popular at The Sundance Film Festival: THE SPECTACULAR NOW and THE FUNDAMENTALS OF CARING. The wild comedy ROAD TRIP continues to be enjoyed worldwide.
My ultimate goal as a Costume Designer is to enhance the story thru character driven wardrobe. I approach both feature film and television design in the same manner; building a closet for each character that is appropriate for their scripted given circumstances. Then, I collaborate with the Director, the Director of Photography, the Production Designer and actors to add color, texture and create an overall mood for the project.
